Love the pose on Molly. Our late Brandy used to lie like that and had a favorite toy too. I never knew dogs had a feeling of possessions until we got Brandy. I kept her toys in a basket on the floor in the closet in my office and every so often she would come in and just look at them to make sure they were all still there. Sometimes she'd take one out, and play with it for awhile, but she always reverted back to her favorite - a bone-shapped squeaker.

I have rescued and rehabilitated numerous feral cats. Yes to feeding! These poor cats only have what we give but I think their article of awareness and caution is to look to what is possible to do beyond feeding them, if you shld notice they are limping or bleeding or have an injury of some sort.
Always good to be in contact w any cat rescue group who may be able to trap and treat the problem as well as have them neutered and returned (TNR). Also, Annex Cat Rescue has little "huts" / "cat houses" they make out of coolers which keep the cats warm in the winter and cool in the summer. You can look it up or call them to inquire if you are interested in putting one out on your porch/in your yard.

For all dog owners wtih long hair breeds, make sure once your dog gets out of the water to dry them off especially under and around their neck and ears. Just going through a really bad case of moist dermatitis with our golden Crosby and poor guy had to be shaved, take antibiotics and rubbed down with a peroxide /water soltuion and then steriod cream. But getting better each and every day and still happy to chase tennis balls all day long.
